Gimme some lobstah!

Where should I eat? This divine covered building pictured on the right is the fabulous Via Vecchia (I believe I ate their cacio e pepe with truffles in record time). You can’t go wrong with any coffee shop in Portland, but we went to the charming Coffee Me Up and got delicious lobster rolls at The High Roller Lobster Co. Sadly I only had one day in Portland, but on our way to Acadia we went to Maine Beer Company which was awesome! If I had more time in Portland the first place I’m going is Blyth & Burrows.
Should I rent a car? Downtown Portland is easy to navigate and most of the area is walkable, however our time in Portland was short because our main goal was Acadia (almost 3 hours north) so we definitely got a rental. Rental cars were insanely expensive for the time of year we were there so I opted for Turo instead and I highly recommend. A way more affordable option to renting a car!
Where should I stay? Here is the Airbnb we stayed at and it was central, comfortable, and the hosts couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating.
What activities should I do? While I only spent a day in Portland, I definitely did my best to see all the cool things they had to offer! Hit up a coffee shop, stop in a brewery, and obviously… get some lobstah! Be sure to make your way to Portland Head Light. It’s the oldest lighthouse in Maine and the area has a park and food trucks as well! Be sure to check their site to see their seasonal hours. There are many shops in the downtown area that show off their art scene, book stores, and local goodies. All worth stopping into!
