Where to stay? If you’re looking for a private space (that’s trendy & cute) and has a plunge pool? This AirBnB was amazing. It’s central to Palm Springs, in a quiet neighborhood, and is only a 5 minute drive from the airport!

Should I rent a car? Depends on your priorities! Palm Springs isn’t a large town and everywhere we went to eat was a 5-10 minute drive. But, we wanted to go to the Aerial Tramway and visit Joshua Tree and didn’t want to mess with the hassle of Uber so we opted for a rental car and it was a great decision. If you’re not wanting to leave Palm Springs, you can definitely get around by just ordering cars!

Where should I go to eat? For a laid back menu with tropical drinks, look no further than The Reef. While hopping around town, be sure to stop at Bill’s Pizza — it’s no frills, but excellent service and deeelicious pizza. Get a desert diner fill at King’s Highway and a wide variety of seafood & more at Spencer’s. Your brunch should be at Wilma & Frieda’s and a Dole Whip dessert at Lappert’s!

What can I do in Palm Springs? Antique & vintage shopping! Hit up Sunny Dunes Antique Mall, Antique Galleries of Palm Springs, Angel View Resale Store, Little Shop of Treasures, Palm Springs General Store, Peepa’s, and Queertique. Be sure to visit the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway — it’s the world’s largest rotating tram car and takes you up to Mt. San Jacinto State Park which has two restaurants, observation decks, natural history museum, two documentary theaters, gift shop and over 50 miles of hiking trails. Head to the Indian Canyons for hiking and to visit an oasis or two! Check out Palm Canyon for the world’s largest California Fan Palm oasis. You’ll pay a $9 per person fee and will be given a map if you’d like to explore other trails.

Anything I can do outside of Palm Springs? Joshua Tree National Park is just a 1 hour drive away! Even if you don’t hike, it’s a great setting for an evening drive.
