Lassen Volcanic National Park

Where should I stay? If you don’t plan on camping in the Park, the closest accommodation spot is in Mineral which has the charming & hospitable Mill Creek Resort.

What are the spots I need to hit? Like most National Parks, it allllll depends on the time of year. We visited in mid-June and they were still clearing out snow in higher elevations which unfortunately includes some popular spots like Bumpass Hell. However, we were able to visit Sulphur Works, Manzanita Lake, Loomis Museum, Butte Lake, and Cinder Cone Trail. Check the NPS site to check on closures and weather updates.

Are there restaurants or gas stations within the Park? No restaurants, but snack-packed visitor centers and camp stores. There is 1 gas station near the Manzanita campground, but from what I read it’s often out of gas so better fill up before hitting up the Park!
