National Park Magic

The National Park Service turned the big 1-0-6 this month! 🎉 Working as a social media manager for artists has provided me with opportunity to visit Parks to gain inspiration, photography and content. It’s by far the coolest part of my job. Starting in 2020, I went to four of California’s nine Parks (Channel Islands, Joshua Tree, Death Valley, and Yosemite — read about it here!). Then in 2021, I went to South Dakota’s Wind Cave and Badlands (aaand you can read about that here).

Before those trips, I’d been to Grand Canyon, Great Smoky Mountains, Mammoth Cave, Gateway Arch, Everglades, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone. All so vastly different from each other and some feel like a different planet. I wanted to share some of my favorite moments via photos in the Parks along with my favorite poster illustrations that are available to purchase from my place of employment: Anderson Design Group!

Throughout my blogs on the Parks that I’ve been to, I’ve also included tips on what to bring and what spots to prioritize when in the Great Outdoors! With traveling, I’m always still learning as I go but I hope that the info I share can provide even a little bit of insight to those taking on a big adventure. These moments above all had one thing in common and that is the feeling I had — being completely and totally overwhelmed (in the best way). I always enter these lands with great reverence and respect and view it as an educational opportunity and encourage others to do the same! One of my favorite moments was hearing the Lakota Emergence Story while in Wind Cave National Park.

What’s your favorite Park moment or story?
